Raise the Curtain …

From the banks of the Irwill to Sicily and we will fight fight fight for Man United FC! AND WE’RE BACK! Alright Reds, here we are embarking on a new season. Manchester United have ended their Pre Season campaign through bidding farewell to our very own Genius, Paul Scholes, by beating King Erics New York Cosmos. Scholesy signed off with a signature goal in the opening minutes. Sat Nav quite simply spotted the opening in the top corner in the Cosmos goal and rocketed a shot straight in. A goal well worthy of the scorers testimonial leaving everyone wishing the ginger prince wouldn’t have to retire, there is quite clearly another year left in his legs… sigh. Oh and Kassem G, Gingers do have souls, just saying.

My sweet prince. Thanks for the memories Scholesy

Manchester United have also had the privilege of thrashing our bitter noisy neighbors in an all Mancunian Community Shield derby. Obviously the derby lived up to everyones expectations (especially the Red half of Manchester). United going 2-0 down by half time finished off the match as 3-2 winners with a late winning strike from the in form Nani. What a curtain raiser for our up and coming season.

Sir Alex Ferguson seems to be quite confident of the squad he has. Motivated by the performances of Cleverley, Nani, Smalling, Welbeck and Jones in last weeks Community Shield, Sir Alex yet again confirms he is quite happy and confident of the squad he has. So if you are still praying every night before you go to sleep that Wesley Sneijder ends up signing for Manchester United, you should stop and be just as excited as we are over the amazing youth prospects United possess. It has been announced by Sir Alex on Friday that he has promoted 18 year old Paul Pogba from the Reserves into the First Team due to his exceptional displays over the past year and a half with both Academy and Reserves. What is his style of play? Think Keano and Viera mixed together, the boy is that good. Let us hope he takes advantage of every chance he gets to step onto the pitch. United fans are most likely to see him make his bow in the Carling Cup.

Future Midfield Boss?

Todys match see’s Manchester United travel to The Hawthorns for a tricky tie vs Roy Hodgsons West Brom. I say trickey because Roy Hodgson has had a good record against us. Remember Fulham? He beat us twice in a row at the Craven Cottage. However, with the Reds brimming with confedence & still feeling good over number 19. Sir Alex feels he has his squad in amazing fitness and form for the kick off. Once that kick off whistle blows Manchester United starts focusing on number 20, which sounds a whole lot better than 19.

Expected Lineup for MUFC vs WBA: De Gea – Fabio – Vidic – Rio – Smalling – Nani – Cleverley – Anderson – Young – Berbatov – Rooney (4-4-2). 7pm (UAE Time). Prediction: 3-1 United.

The Rise & Rise of Nani & Cleverley

I expect Danny to come on for Berbatov today should the first half end 0-0. Our golden boot winner will still have plenty to prove for the Faithful MUFC as constant doubts over his future are over shadowing his most effective season since joining us in 2008. Carrick is a doubt, Rafael has a dislocated shoulder and Evra has a knock from international duty. MUFC supporters everywhere will hope for some top drawer football from our reds specifically since Sir Alex has vowed to try reach Barcelonas level of football. All I can say about that is … In Fergie, We Always Trust.

Competition this year will be more fierce than last season with more clubs having the ability to spend more and the top 4 no longer the top 4 having Manchester City and Tottenham join the elite 4 of English football. This is going to get really interesting. Let the show begin.

What do you think of this years squad? Does United need any more strengthening/ squad additions? What do you reckon will happen this season? Please feel free to share your in depth views with us in the comments section and lets get talking.

See you soon Reds and remember…

Manchester United FC vs FC Barcelona, Champions League Final 2011: The Final Frontier

Red Army…

CHAMP19NS!!! 19 times and thats a fact, you can’t say it enough times. I love you Manchester United!

The League is wrapped up and the Champions League Final looms large on Saturday 28th May, are you ready for it? First off, if you are going to Wembley, Godspeed fellow Reds and enjoy it. Standup the whole match and sing through supporting our boys until the final kick of the ball.

Incerdible hardwork over the years maintained Manchester Uniteds charisma & success

The Premier League ended where I have witnessed alot of hearts being broken as well as faces being lit up from joy. This is Football, this is the sports world. You can’t win them all and hence don’t take your passionate journeys with your team for granted. On trophy day Manchester United celebrated title number 19 but today, at the break of every dawn till the 28th we will have our eyes set on one target only and that is that precious European Cup. Sir Alex will have to do alot of homework and preperation for this matchup as he would be very keen on avoiding a repeat performance of Rome 2009. Whilst looking like underdogs for the final, we have hope and belief that Fergie will motivate our boys in red to come out and play our clubs traditional football, Manchester United Football. I have no doubt that both teams will field out their strongest possible 11 to win the match. Who Sir Alex picks for the Final is beyond me, but knowing our great performances of late, I believe he will pick the following lineup to play against Barcelona: Van Der Sar – Fabio – Vidic – Rio – Evra – Valencia – Carrick – Park – Giggs – Rooney – Hernandez. In what might look like a 4-4-2 is actually a 4-4-1-1 with Rooney looking very likely on having that free role which will hopefully have him perish on the pitch becoming more effectively. Lifting the Premier League trophy on Sunday and the FA Youth cup last night, can Manchester United make it a treble of trophies in one week? Let us not get our hopes up too high. Lets not forget that we are playing UEFA’s new darlings. Hence why I reiterate that I hope Sir Alex has a cunning plan to defeat the Catalans. Sure Barcelona have been nothing short of praise of us as opponents showering Sir Alex, Scholesy and Giggs with compliments, but this is the final and I surely hope we dont let their praise non sense get to our head. Fair play to Barcelona for trying to show us that we have good ties and similarities in tradition, but for a final I want to see blood, sweat and tears (tears of joy I hope). I will be proud regardless of result. We have come a long way and it has been a special season.

The Grand Finale - All eyes turn to Wembley

For those who will be in Dubai and are in a buoyant mood for the Final (28th May, 2011 / 10.45pm KO UAE Time), we urge all of you to come in full voice and to Harvesters as they have guaranteed MUSC members a place at Harvesters no matter what. However, here are the rules we have discussed with the management:

–    It is important that all United supporters reach the venue by the earliest time possible to avoid further disappointments. If you are there early enough you will get a better standing/sitting location for the match.

–    The venue will be turned into a 75% standing area and 25% seating area (these are approximate figures). Harvesters have promised to try make it as packed and safe as possible for everyone to enjoy the famous MUSC UAE atmosphere.

–    If you do come in at a later stage, you might be stopped by the security guards on the door, however they will identify if you are an official United supporter by saying the password. Please contact MUSC UAE for the password should you be interested in joining.

–    If you do come in late (which we hope you don’t) and you feel irritated or cant handle crowded areas please feel free to move on to the venue next door which is the Jumeirah Ballroom and NOT Zinc or anywhere else.

–    Harvesters will be exclusively accessable for all MUSC members during the final and the management have promised to make it as exclusive for Reds as possible. Barca fans WILL be rejected.

–    To make it easier for you to access the venue, wear your best United shirts (or a uniform theme of Red, Black & Whie), your scarves, bring your flags and that should be good enough for the security people to know they are letting in the right “fans”.

–    No fights, if you get into a fight you will be thrown out. Feel free to sing all the songs that you want and taunt the other team as much as you like, but keep it friendly as well. Remember we are playing Barcelona, not Liverpool.

Advice from MUSC to you:

–   If you know any True Red supporters which love United and can sing, tag them along.

–   Create your own banners, or bring your own flags and scarves. Remember; our theme is Red, Black and White and MAKE SOME NOISE! Harvesters informs all supporters that should you want, please pass on any Flags, Banners and Scarves before Saturday 28th May and they will take care of setting them up around the pub.

–    KNOW THE CHANTS, ask people to help you. Remember one thing, we are one family and there’s nothing to be ashamed of if you don’t know a lot of chants, we can all help each other create a vibrant euphoric atmosphere. You can also visit our MUFC Chants page on: https://muscuae.wordpress.com/mufc-chants/

–    Inform your fellow Red friends of the rules.

–    Don’t get nervous no matter what happens during the match, keep the faith, keep singing and remember 1999, its not over till the final whistle goes off. We keep mentioning this to you ever since we have started gathering together, our positive vibes can be felt all the way from the UAE to wherever our boys in red will be.

–    We are the best supporters in the Middle East, live up to that reputation.

–    Get there earlier than 9pm to get the best spots. Kick Off is at 10.45pm

–    BELIEVE.

CHAMP19NS!

CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND! 19 LEAGUES AND THAT’S A FACT! ARE YOU WATCHING MERSEYSIDE? 19 19 19 19 19 19 19 19 19 19 19 1919 19 19 19 19 19 19 (In honor of our great mate in London Lawan, 19 times repeating the number 19) … Top of the perch!!

Cheeky banner snuck into Anfield on Sunday - Nice one lads

COME ON! GET IN! Congratulations to all of my Manchester United family! AND  most importantly a huge congratulations to our boys in Red for a tremendous effort all season long. Grinding out results just when we thought we were not going to get anything out of some fixtures (West Ham & Blackpool most notably). Sir Alex Ferguson is one of a kind and we might as well enjoy these Fergie days as much as we can because you just don’t know what awaits us in the future after our Fergie era, but thats another topic altogether.

Our performance vs Blackburn also sets a reminder as to why we still need to strengthen in key areas of our squad. Our performance also sets a reminder that if we are not focused we will be vulnerable. I would like to see Little Pea work on his dribble and passing. After his exceptional first season we only hope to see him get better and become more lethal. Hernandez is but one of those young players with tremendous potential in our side. With all of our stunning success this season it is still inevitable to sign 3 new players and who knows maybe even 4 all depending on how many players leave this summer. Our management must hopefully not feel foolish to overlook and forget that we seriously looked into signing players to further tweak certain departments. Since we can have the entirity of June to talk about squad strengthining in detail we refocus on trophy number 19 and continue embracing the moment and continue building on that momentum. Now that Number 19 is in the bag, our lads must take time to rest, regroup, train harder, get motivated and come out on the 28th May, on English soil and feel that they can matchup against Barcelona. Our lads know they are more than capable, but even Fergie admits he faces a challenge on how to control Barcas creative midfield engine trio of Xavi, Iniesta and Messi.

Manchester United supporters are full of belief come the 28th of May

Until that special night of the 28th comes knocking, MUSC UAE will be present in Harvesters for Sunday night to watch an experimental younger Manchester United side take on Blackpool on Sunday 22nd May as well as celebrating the trophy presentation at Old Trafford. Kick Off time is 7pm UAE time and we are expecting a good turn out for our 19th Trophy ( God I can’t stop saying 19). Since this will be an experimental lineup, I would personally like to see: Amos – Brown – Smalling – Evans – O’shea – Obertan – Pogba – Fletcher – Bebe – Berbatov – Keane. But thats just the lineup I would like to see. Fergie can give second half run outs to Owen, Anderson and Morrison. No matter which lineup comes out on Sunday, one thing is for sure, Sir Alex will ask the squad to honor our exceptional home record for the season. Blackpool will be fighting for their lives, so no easy match for our younger squad. The FA will be delusional to look at our second team as a weakened squad as they have proved themselves in various fixtures and most notably our 2nd leg semi final vs Schalke 04. Anyways it always seems more likely for the FA to keep coming against United rather than support the most succesful club of the country as they also seem set to charge Sir Alex with another Impropper Conduct sentence for complimenting Howard Webb … Sorry say that again? Or as Rooney would say “What? Fucking!! What?”. The FA, always pathetic, no wonder England has not won honors of hosting the World Cup, The FA seems to make more enemies than friends. Forget bribary charges, set your own mess out in the first place.

... That boy Giggsy, he's won it 12 times!

MUSC UAE will issue a new chants page for all of our supporters to log onto and memorize. You can type some lines from these chants to get their tunes off google or youtube. MUSC UAE will also issue a statement via this blog on the rules and regulations to Harvesters for the Champions League final. Keep coming back for more information and dont hesitate get in touch via the information in our about page, we are here for our Manchester United supporters in the UAE.

The MUSC UAE family during the 2009 Champions League Final

Enjoy your Euphoric celebrations and keep them going till Sunday so we can propperly celebrate together on trophy day.

Don’t Lose Faith

It is so easy to burst out and start ranting at our performance against Arsenal. But We shouldn’t. There are now 3 games left. THREE. So to find out people are ranting away on twitter and facebook is disgusting! I am just as frustrated in terms of not beating a dejected Arsenal, but I won’t rant at our players. We didn’t play well. Let us get over it. We are the 12th Man on the pitch (& off of it) and we can make a difference. We have Chelsea on Sunday and I must say I am an absolute nerve wreck! I both hate & love this part of the season. United never do it the easy way, it is a rarity that we do.

Wednesday night Manchester United beat Schalke 04 4-1 (6-1 on Aggregate). It was a tremendous victory at Old Trafford considering the lineup Sir Alex has decided to go with. His “Sleepless” lineup made sure we showed and proved to the football world that we do have depth within our squad. It is only a matter of Heart, Focus, Urgency and Consistency for us to go out and earn number 19. Those are  major components which should be at the gut of every United player this part of the season. The Blackburn draw & Chelsea loss of last year still gives me heartaches. We must overcome them this year. On Sunday Fergie would have rested the team he wants to play against Chelsea. Should my lineup prediction go correctly then it will be: Van Der Sar – Fabio – Rio – Vidic – Evra – Valencia – Carrick – Park – Giggs – Rooney – Hernandez. What would my scoreline prediction be? At this part of the season I always get my predictions wrong, I rely on the Boys in Red and I hope Fergie plays his cards right. I hope we play for title number 19 and not for “revenge” as it will bring out nothing from our players. Chelsea came after us for revenge in Europe and did not get the result they were looking for. Howard Webb will ref the match at Old Trafford and I like him because he is a classy unbiased ref. I just hope now we can put all of these non sense ref conspiracies aside, especially on Sunday.

Depth in squad

Our boys will have that European Cup final qualification as a major boost of morale and hopefully not ego. Wednesday nights performance highlights that on our day we can take on anyone. Barcas brilliant start to the season seems to be increasingly over shadowed with diving /ref hogging conspiracies. I’m not sure what to make of it but Fergie is doing his homework and will hopefully figure out what it is that we need to do out on the pitch to counter Barcas passing game and of course Messi. I dont agree with anyone which says this is about “revenge”, not only because I have already mentioned that revenge gets you nothing, but we have nothing to avenge. If you think about it, in 2009 we have lost fair and square to a brilliant Barcelona side. We have not been wronged or robbed by the Catalans. That down to earth Barcelona side of 2009 was by far the best team on planet earth. United simply did not show up. Ronaldo and the boys clocked in the first ten minutes then dissappeared. We heavily relied on Ronaldo that season after his stunning 42 goal 2008 campaign. When Manchester United walk out to Wembley on the 28th May 2011, we will be the underdogs. We will not have Messi, Pedro, Xavi, Iniesta, Pique & Shakira, Puyol, Alves & Villa. We will come out and play as a team, a collective unit, the same way we have done over and over the past few months.

I truly hope nerves do not kick in. We have nothing to lose, LITERALLY! No one would have thought at the begining of the season that come first week of May we will be top of the league and Champions League Finalists. I quite simply just want our boys to go out, have fun and put in a decent performance. That will do for me. If United just enjoy the moment, we’ll do just fine.

To those who started leaving Old Trafford on Wednesday night by the 85th minute I would like to say that you are all a disgrace and not worthy of your season tickets. You do not have the heart nor dedication to be United supporters. How can you leave your seats on a European Cup Semi Final?? Unfortunately, we might see more of these day trippers next year as The Glazers inconsiderately increase ticket prices again. When you take moments like this for granted is when you will regret them in the future. Our support was good throughout the match, but not great. If we are to beat Chelsea on Sunday we will have to turn Old Trafford into an intimidating atmosphere making Howard Webb and more importantly Chelsea know they are playing on OUR turf.

Support is crucial for United especially on Sunday

Dubai Red Army, gear up, rest well, leave early from work and join us at Harvesters for the 7pm Kick Off of the much anticipated Title decider vs Chelsea on Sunday. Spread the word.

Talk to you soon Reds,
